Envicool BattCool Liquid Cooling Solution Supports Asia's Largest Single-unit Thermal Power And Energy Storage Project
Recently, Phase II of the thermal power and energy storage frequency modulation project at Yangxi Power Station Units 3-6 in Yangjiang, Guangdong, China, commenced a 30-day continuous trial operation on November 12.
The project utilizes Envicool BattCool Full Chain Liquid Cooling Solution to deliver long-term, safe, and reliable cooling for thermal power and energy storage equipment. The products underwent stringent anti-salt spray testing prior to delivery to ensure the system's resilience against salt spray corrosion in coastal environments.
Supported by Asia's largest single-unit thermal power generator, the project is also the world's largest thermal power and energy storage frequency modulation program, boasting globally leading performance in frequency regulation.

Reports indicate that the thermal power and energy storage frequency modulation system undergoing this trial operation integrated with Units 5 & 6 of Yangxi Power Station, represents the world's first 1,240-megawatt high-efficiency supercritical thermal power generators, featuring the largest single-shaft, full-speed capacity globally, and achieving the lowest coal consumption rates among thermal power units. The project's grid connection will significantly improve Guangdong's power grid regulation capacity and lay the foundation for the integration of substantial renewable energy resources.
Batteries and other key equipment generate a lot of heat during the operation of thermal power storage applications. Excessive temperature may also cause equipment failure or even safety accidents.
In terms of temperature control and cooling, the project adopts Envicool BattCool Full Chain Liquid Cooling Solution to ensure the safe and long-term operation of energy storage systems, playing a key role in extending equipment lifespan and maintaining essential safety standards.

The 60kW BattCool liquid cooling unit deployed in the project features an ultra-wide operating temperature range, catering to diverse environmental application requirements.
